What is Self-Hyponosis?

We can say that hypnosis is the art of securing and focusing one’s attention while using suggestions for enhancing motivations, sensations and perceptions.  Therefore, self-hypnosis is doing so for, to, and with oneself.  It is said that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, meaning that we go into the state of hypnosis by our own volition and abilities.  If we don’t want to go there, we don’t, and we can’t be forced there.  Self-hypnosis relies on a self-generated state of consciousness. We enter this state by quieting the mind, then gradually moving toward sleep – although we are still alert enough to avoid sleep itself.  This state allows the mind to be like a magnifying glass which focuses the conscious and unconscious minds, as well as the body into exquisitely collaborating together – in relation to the issues for which we apply the hypnosis.

How is Self-Hyponosis Used?

Beginning with its use in the healing technologies of ancient Egypt, the practice of hypnosis has traveled the world.  Today, hypnosis and self-hypnosis are used by heath service professionals for treatment and pain free medicall/dental procedures like birthing and surgeries.  Moreover, appropriately trained professionals teach various forms of hypnosis to psychotherapy clients; school and college students; corporate staff and executives; performers; amateur, professional and Olympic athletes alike.

Published research findings support the idea that once you master the basics of self-hypnosis, you can apply it in many ways, i.e., increasing white blood cell count; improving reading speed and comprehension; improving test-taking outcomes; enhancing a golf swing; relating more effectively with others who seem out of control; time-regression.  To some degree, all people have the ability to enter a trance state and thus use self-hypnosis. Just imagine what it will be like for you to experience how self-hypnosis can help you in your life.

Time Frame:  This workshop can be taught comfortably in 1.5 to 6 hours.
