Stress Management and Burnout Prevention for Instructors, Students, and Helping Professionals
Workshop Description:
Let’s face it, working in helping professions and educational environments can be extremely stressful, and can lead to severe burnout. Some examples of related distress can be: severely challenged clients in acute crisis, experiencing vicarious trauma, fears of enduring airborne viruses and the evolving impact that comes with them, addressing changing administrative/staffing issues like absenteeism, turnover, or elevated fund-raising goals. Other stressors can arise such as financial challenges, balancing one’s personal well-being and one’s family life needs with daily educational and workplace demands. These are just a handful of the issues that if unattended, can lead to overwork, too many sick days, burnout, and/or position termination.
This presentation is designed to effectively teach awareness and skills to prevent and manage distress and burnout. Participants will leave this workshop ready to use new skills to effectively respond to stressful day-to-day challenges and crises.
